Whiskey cocktails aren’t only meant for the summer, whiskey is a wonderful spirit to make hot and cold winter themed cocktails. Whether you are changing up the ingredients to an old fashioned or mixing whiskey to make a creative hot toddy to warm up to on those cold winter nights! Below are some of my most recent winter whiskey creations!
Classic Hot Toddy

The Hot Toddy, a classic whiskey cocktail and everyone’s mom and grandma’s first cold remedy after Vicks! Its hot, citrus forward a little sweet and the perfect cocktail to warm up and soothe a sore throat! Super easy to make and many have these ingredients in their house ready to go.
- 1 1/2 oz Whiskey – Buffalo Trace used here
- 1 oz Lemon Juice
- 1tsp Honey
- Garnish with lemon and cinnamon stick

Chai Bourbon Oatmilk Coffee

I absolutely love coffee, it is one of my favorite beverages. So I decided to dive into the world of mixing my two loves, coffee and bourbon. But I didn’t just want to do a sicky sweet bourbon cream and coffee. I wanted to keep the sweetness low so you can enjoy the coffee while also letting the bourbon still shine through on the flavors. I also enjoy the creaminess of the oat milk, and as I have gotten older the little dairy I consume the better!
- Fill up you glass about 3/4 of the way with coffee, more or less depending how coffee forward you want this to be. I preferred mine more coffee forward so decided to go that route, if you are one of those people that can determine how much cream you want based on color, then follow that same ratio here!
- 1 oz of bourbon or whiskey, I used Buffalo Trace here
- Steamed Oat Milk
- 2 tsp of Chai concentrate or syrup
- Garnish with a dash of cinnamon

Chai Old Fashioned

A warm winter spin on a classic. The Chai Old Fashioned is a nice and cozy spin on the classic. Offers a new level of flavors and spice and this like the others can be spun to your likeness. Add more or less chai, this flexibility allows you to find your sweet spot with the best ratios to enjoy your cocktail to the fullest!
- 2 oz of whiskey Buffalo Trace used here
- 1 oz of Lemon Juice
- 1 dash of Fees Old Fashioned Bitters
- 1 1/2 oz of Chai Concentrate
- Top with sparkling water
- Stir and top with ice
- Garnish with cinnamon stick
